Our mission is to create an environment where all players are treated equally, sportsmanship is more important than wins and losses, competition is strong but not relentless and people are more important than the game.
Code of Conduct
· I will exhibit fairness and honesty in my dealings with others.
· I will treat others with respect.
· I will exemplify the highest standard in ethical behavior and fair play.
· I will treat all club property with respect, and clean/tidy up after any court activity.
· I will always control my temper on and off the court.
Unacceptable actions include, but are not limited to:
· Discourteous, crude, or offensive behavior
· Yelling at any player, member, or guest of the club
· Intimidating, threatening, bullying, or exhibiting any other aggressive or abusive behavior toward any player, member, or guest of the club
· Obscene language or gestures
· Overly aggressive play towards any player
It is everyone’s responsibility to make new players feel welcome.
Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in sanctions and/or disciplinary action under the PLCTC Membership Disciplinary and Appeal Procedure available on the PLCTC website.
· Members may report by email or written letter any incidents of misconduct or code violations to any Board member of PLCTC
· A full description of the incident or incidents including dates and any specific details that may help the Board in the review, must be submitted.
· All complaints shall remain anonymous and confidential to the general membership.
· The Board will review, report, and interview any and all concerned members including the accused code violator.
· Board members, by a majority vote, will determine if a code violation has occurred.
· The code violator will have an opportunity to appeal to the full Board of Directors in person or in writing prior to the Board’s decision to impose a consequence.
· If it is determined a code violation or other misconduct had occurred, the full Board of Directors will choose from the following consequences based on the severity of the violation:
· Written warning
· 2-week suspension,
· Permanent removal from the club.
